Dr Spence Jahner continued to work with world champion rodeo contestants again this year at the Livingston Rodeo July 1-4th, 2010.  World champions like Cody Ohl and Jesse Kruse are just a couple of the many stars that benefitted from Dr Spence's care!  Many people do not realize that these contestants put their bodies through high stress and then go sit in a car for many hours every day to travel to the next rodeo.  What a blessing to have Chiropractors from Maximized Living helping out the professional athletes!

Maximized Living Doctor Spence Jahner is a warrior against biotoxins. He, and the other Maximized Living chiropractic team of doctors, is committed to teaching the principles of safe living with respect to reducing exposure to toxic substances commonly found in homes and the workplace.

The most common biotoxin in most environments is mold. Some molds are fairly benign, even if distasteful, in that they may not cause death, but many cause problems for people with respiratory and skin problems. Mold spores can be airborne, as we saw with the rapid spread of Legionnaire’s Disease, and do horrendous damage to a large population.

Three hedges against the spread of mold are fairly simple to identify.

• High humidity in places with little ventilation encourages the growth of mold and mildew. Bathrooms, kitchens and laundry areas are usually the worst areas for this problem. To reduce the problem, install exhaust fans that will blow the worst of warm, humid air (typically right after showering, bathing, or a laundry cycle) to the outside and encourage drier air from the air conditioner (AC) to take its place. Once the humid air is vented, turn off the fan and let the AC do its job.
• The second source of problems is often structural. A small leak in the attic can go undetected for years, while the problems begin to grow. Damp wallboard and carpeting are great breeding grounds for mold and mildew.
• The easiest “fix” is to change the air conditioning filters on a regular basis. Clean air flow is the lifeblood of every AC unit, especially if it is a heat pump which both heats and cools. To maximize the efficiency of your unit, have trained technicians service your unit(s) every year (once each for AC and furnace; twice per year for heat pumps).
